The Youth Writers Program is offered to high school students who reside in the urban areas in Orange County. This program is structured to enable students to learn the fundamentals of writing a book, graphic and video designing for their cover, and developing promotional campaigns. We will be encouraging collaborative projects for those students with similar project ideas to produce anthologies or a collection of short stories. The program will span for twelve weeks, the proposed start time frame being the first week in May. The current proposed time frame will also serve as a positive activity during the summer for students as this program does not run concurrent with, nor is dependent on the Orange County Public School System.

CFWPG published authors will form one on-one mentoring relationships in order to further develop students’ individual projects past the course end date., as some students may wish to pursue a writing career, or a more in depth writing or publishing project.
