Central Florida Writers & Publishers Guild
Mrs. Charise Liburd, Dr. Ruth Baskerville, and Dr. Free Harris received the prestigious Empowering Good certification! This consisted of a breakfast celebration for Cohort 3 with the Empowering Good Capacity Building Project which took place over the last six months. This was presented by Orange County Government, Crummer Rollins, and the Edyth Bush Institute.
Dr. Ruth and Dr. Free attended an in-person and online training sessions in these five areas:
(1) Impact Measurement
(2) Financial Management
(3) Risk Management
(4) Telling the Story of The Central Florida Writers and Publishers Guild Inc.
(5) Fundraising
They listened to taped lessons, completed dozens of assignments, and best of all, we had our Personal Coach Charise Liburd, CEO of The 297 Group, who met with us bi-weekly and shared her wisdom and guidance as we revised our Vision and Mission, changed our programming, and put plans in place to maximize our reach and increase membership, while minimizing our risks and ensuring that we have measurable outcomes for all our future activities.
